Biography
Hailing from Berlin, Germany, Claptone cultivates mystery around his identity and career path. Revealed in 2012 with his track "Cream", which quickly entered the top 10 on electronic music online sales site Beatport, a few months later he unveiled his first EP, She Loves You, comprising four tracks, and made a name for himself with remixes of tracks by Pet Shop Boys, Klaxons and Metronomy. Thanks to "No Eyes", he confirmed his rise to fame in 2013, and is now playing in the world's biggest cities: Paris, Shanghai, New York, Melbourne, London and Berlin. However, Claptone never reveals his true identity on stage, distilling a sophisticated deep house sound hidden behind a long-nosed golden mask. In 2015, he finally released his debut album, Charmer, preceded by the single "Puppet Theatre" on the Different label. It includes the tracks "Ghost" with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, "No Eyes" with Jaw as well as "The Music Got Me".
