James Roy Gillette, born November 10, 1967 in the United States of America, was an American singer. Inspired by heavy metal music at a local skating rink, he underwent opera training to develop his vocal range. His first notable role was with the band Slut, contributing vocals to their demo tape Perversion for a Price. He then joined Tuff, releasing two demos before moving to Hollywood. In 1987, Gillette released his solo album Proud to Be Loud and formed Nitro with guitarist Michael Angelo Batio. Their debut album, also titled Proud to Be Loud, led to a record deal with Rhino Records following their first live show. Nitro released two albums before disbanding in 1993. In 2001, Gillette formed Organ Donor, releasing the album The Ultra-Violent. He later contributed as a back-up vocalist and producer on Lita Ford's 2009 album, Wicked Wonderland.
