Jens Zimmermann, born in 1969 in Germany, is a German disc jockey and producer known for his work in drum'n'bass, electronic music, minimal techno, and techno. Early in his career, Zimmermann showed a keen interest in music, initially exploring rock and EBM before transitioning to electronic genres. His breakthrough came when he formed the group Culture Beat with Torsten Fenslau, achieving worldwide success. After Culture Beat disbanded, Zimmermann adopted the alias AzReal and made waves in the drum'n'bass scene before returning to techno and minimal techno. Notable releases include his early singles "#1" (2004), "#2" (2005), and "#3" (2006), as well as EPs such as Compression E.P. (2009) and White Treasures E.P. (2010). Zimmermann has also collaborated with various artists, including Italoboyz on the track "Gesichtlein" (2010).
