Biography

Jeff Redd, born February 2, 1969, in New York City, is an American singer. At age 17, he began his musical journey with The Sophisticated Gents before signing a deal with Uptown Records / MCA Records as a solo artist. His debut album A Quiet Storm was released in 1990 and featured the singles "I Found Lovin'", "Come And Get Your Lovin'", and "Love High", which reached Number 16 on the Billboard R&B chart. Redd also contributed to Mary J. Blige's early career, helping her secure a deal with Uptown Records after hearing a demo tape. In 1994, he recorded his second album Down Low, but its release was delayed due to EMI America shutting down their black music department; it was officially released in 2024. Redd later worked as an A&R executive at MCA Records and established Sol Real Records after the label closed in 2003.
