Biography

Guitarist Jean-Pierre Danel, born in 1968, is one of France's foremost specialists in the instrument, and a collector of Fender Stratocaster models in particular. His instrumental albums, such as Stratospheric (2000) and Guitar Connection (2006), are regularly acclaimed and rewarded, and sell like hotcakes. Several of his albums are tributes to rock'n'roll, blues and his favorite English band, The Shadows. The son of singer Pascal Danel is also a prolific compilation producer. In 2010, he produced an album of duets with his idols Hank Marvin, Brian May, Andy Powell, Scott Henderson, Albert Lee and peers Louis Bertignac, Paul Personne, Axel Bauer, Laurent Voulzy and Norbert Krief, as well as singers Beverly Jo Scott and Anne Ducros. In 2016, the Guitar Tribute compilation featured his versions of major covers, along with a concert and six-string instructional DVD.
