Biography

Frédéric Chapellier, known as Fred Chapellier, was born 4 June 1966 in Metz, Moselle, France, and began playing guitar in 1981 after three years on drums. He first gained attention with the blues group Kashmir before forming Men in Blue with Big Joe Barret, and later establishing the Fred Chapellier Blues Band. His debut French album, Blues Devil (2003), was followed by L'Œil du Blues (2005) and a tribute to Roy Buchanan with Fred Chapellier & Friends: A Tribute to Roy Buchanan (2007). In 2009 he released Night Work with Billy Price. Subsequent releases include It Never Comes Easy (2016), Set Me Free (2018), Plays Peter Green (2018), and Straight to the Point (2022). In 2026, he teamed up with Patrick Rondat and Pat O'May for the live album Guitar Night Project: Live Access.
