Martha Margit Butbul, known as Jazz Gitti, was born on May 13, 1946, in Vienna, Austria. She is an Austrian entertainer and singer. At the age of 16, she won a youth singing competition with "Es geht die Lou lila" and was offered a record deal. Instead of pursuing music immediately, she moved to Israel in 1962. Upon her return to Austria in 1971, she opened several cafes and jazz clubs, earning the nickname Jazz Gitti for her frequent performances. Her breakthrough came with the release of her first album A Wunda in 1990, which included notable singles like "Kränk di net". Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, she released several successful albums, including Hoppala (1991), Alles pico Bello (1993), and Die Liebe meines Lebens (2004). In 1992, she received the World Music Award from Cliff Richard. Jazz Gitti also appeared in various television series such as Tohuwabohu and Kaisermühlen Blues.
