Jane Rutter, born on November 2, 1958, in Australia, is a flautist known for her versatility across classical, jazz, and pop genres. She began her musical journey by specializing in the French Flute School and lecturing at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. In 1981, Rutter released her first album, marking the start of her solo career. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, she released several albums including BlÅ (1996) and Romancing the Flute (1998). In 2004, Rutter released two notable albums: Fire and Water: An Irish Fantasy and Brazil. Her album Embraceable You was released in 2007. She has performed worldwide and formed the chamber group POSH. In 2016, she received the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
