Biography
James Singleton, known professionally as James Pants. He is an American multi-instrumental recording artist who defies simple categorization but is often associated with the "fresh beat" sound of the early 1980s. Singleton's musical journey began when he was discovered by DJ and Stones Throw Records head Peanut Butter Wolf while still in high school. After leaving his prom to meet Wolf at a show, Singleton interned at Stones Throw offices and released several singles and compilations with the label. His debut album, Welcome, was released in 2008, followed by Seven Seals in 2009, and his self-titled LP in 2011. In addition to his musical endeavors, Singleton has worked as a software engineer for Bloomberg L.P. and is affiliated with the Red Bull Music Academy.
