Biography

Jahkoy Palmer, born 23 March 1994 in Toronto, Canada, began writing poetry at eleven and rapping by fourteen under the name Raheem, later adopting the moniker Jahkoy. His breakthrough came with the 2017 EP Foreign Water, which introduced his “bipolar” sound that blends contemporary R&B and soul. Jahkoy signed with Def Jam in early 2016, toured with Ella Mai and Kehlani, and collaborated with artists such as Willow and Jaden Smith, solidifying his presence in the Canadian and international R&B scenes. In 2019 he released the studio album 404, followed by Healing Phase in February 2023 and Pretty Conversation in September 2023, each expanding his vocal and production repertoire. Notable tracks include "Odd Future" (premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 in January 2016 and later played by Drake), "Firefighter" (2020), and "Sweet Tooth" (2023).
