Inès Defontaine, born January 21, 1996 in Paris, is a French-Moroccan artist who grew up in Morocco. From an early age, she was immersed in a rich musical universe thanks to her music-loving father, who introduced her to such legends as Elton John, The Beatles, Barbara and Charles Aznavour. Her mother also passed on to her the haunting sounds of Arab artists such as Oum Kalthoum, Warda and Abdel Halim Hafez, as well as Nancy Ajram. In 2018, Inès arrived in Paris and threw herself into the music scene, performing covers at open stages in the capital. It was there that she was spotted by Patrick Bruel, who offered her a TV duet, marking a turning point in her career. This opportunity prompted her to invest more time in her music and begin writing her first album. In 2022, with the support of friends and family, she decided to set up her own label, Jabajaj Music. In early 2023, Inès released her first single,"Habiba", a song in French and Arabic that advocates freedom and self-love. She is currently working on an album scheduled for release in 2024, blending pop, jazz and oriental influences. With her warm, powerful voice, Inès Defontaine tackles universal themes such as love, freedom and identity, captivating an ever-growing audience.
