In-Flight Safety is a Canadian indie rock band formed in 2003. The group initially consisted of vocalist and guitarist John Mullane, drummer Glen Nicholson, bassist Brad Goodsell, and keyboardist Jon Sheen. They met while studying at Mount Allison University in Sackville. Their breakthrough came with the self-released EP Vacation Land in 2004, which was distributed by Universal Music Canada. The band signed to Emm Gryner's Dead Daisy Records and released their full-length debut album, The Coast Is Clear, in early 2006. This album garnered significant airplay on CBC Radio and Halifax rock station Q104, leading to tours across Canada and the United Kingdom. In-Flight Safety won three awards at the 2007 East Coast Music Awards for The Coast Is Clear. Notable songs include "Coast Is Clear" and "Surround."
