Biography

IMT Smile is a Slovak rock band formed in 1992 by brothers Ivan and Miro Tásler from Prešov. The initials of their names form the "IMT" in the band's name. They began recording songs in 1993, using the poetry of Ľubomír Feldek as lyrics. In 1994, they won a competition called RG tip with the songs "Pán v saku" and "Spím". In 1996, Škvrna Records offered them a contract for five years and three albums, and they released their debut album, Klik-klak. In 1998, they released their second album, Valec, which was certified Gold and won the ZAI Award for band of the year. They released subsequent albums including Nech sa páči in 2000, Budeme to stále my in 2018, and Exoticana in 2024. IMT Smile won numerous accolades throughout their career, including three ZAI Awards, two Slávik Awards, two Aurel Awards, three OTOs, and a Crystal Wing Award.
