The Berlin rapper IMMI was born in 1996 and made his musical breakthrough with the track "serseri". His stage name is derived from the word immigrant and alludes to the artist's Turkish roots. His stage name also refers to the potential difficulties faced by immigrants, such as a lack of acceptance within society and identification problems. Rappers such as Snopp Dogg and The Notorious B.I.G. brought the Kreuzberg native into contact with hip-hop. IMMI started rapping at the age of 10.
