Farid Bang (born June 4, 1986, in Melilla, Spain) is a singer and rapper from Germany. Born Farid Hamed El Abdellaou, the artist discovered his love for rap music at the age of 19. Through a friend, he made contact with the German rapper Eko Fresh. Together, the two singers released a few songs on the 2005 mixtape *Fick immer noch deine Story*. In 2008, his debut album *Asphalt Massaka* was released. With its follow-up, *Asphalt Massaka 2*, Farid Bang achieved his first chart entry in Germany, peaking at No. 56. His subsequent albums, Banger Leben Kürzer (2011) and Der Letzte Tag Deines Lebens (2012), reached top positions on the charts in German-speaking countries. With his 2014 album Killa, Farid Bang achieved his first number-one hit in Germany. This was followed by further albums: Asphalt Massaka 3 (2015), Blut (2016), Genkidama (2020), Asozialer Marokkaner (2020), and X (2021). Farid Bangâs best-known songs include âSturmmaske Auf (Intro), â âGamechanger, â âAve Maria,â and âMahgreb Gang.â Farid Bang also appears in a supporting role in the successful German film series Fack Ju Göthe. In 2018, Farid Bangâs award of the German music prize Echo caused a scandal. The uproar over the awarding of a gangster rapper marked the end of the Echo as a German music prize. Farid Bang continues to release musicâand very successfully so. In 2022, the rapper heads into the studio with Capital Bra to record the album Deutschrap Brandneu. The album becomes a number-one hit in Germany and Switzerland and reaches number two in Austria. In the fall of 2023, Farid Bang releases his eleventh studio album, Asphalt Massaka 4. The album reaches number three in Germany and Switzerland and number six in Austria. In September 2024, another studio album, XII, follows. The album climbs to No. 5 in Germany and reaches No. 7 in Switzerland. At the end of May, Farid Bang releases the album So muss man gehen. The album reaches No. 3 on the German charts.
