Biography

Magda Liliana Castilla Cuellar, known professionally as Ilona, was born on January 24, 1985, in BogotÃ¡, Colombia. She started her musical career at age 17 in public venues and pursued her dream to be a professional singer in the early 2000s. Ilona taught herself guitar and writing songs and then formed a band with professional musicians. In 2005, she signed with EMI Music Colombia and released her debut album Desde Mi Ventana, produced by Cachorro LÃ³pez. The album featured collaborations with LeÃ³n Gieco on "En la Zona" and the English band Blue on "One Love," earning Ilona a Grammy Latino nomination for Best New Artist. She released her second album "AllÃ¡ en el Sur" in 2007, and subsequent albums include "AquÃ y Ahora" (2012) and "Viajera" (2017).
