Ilkka Tapani Alanko, also known as Ilkka Alanko, was born on November 21, 1969, in Joensuu, and is a Finnish singer, songwriter, and musician. He co-founded the rock band Neljä Ruusua, marking his initial breakthrough in the music industry. He contributed the song "Sunnuntaina sataa aina" to the 1989 Tapio Rautavaara tribute album of the same name. He later joined Ismo Alanko, AW Yrjänä, and Kalle Ahola in the platinum-selling project Neljä Baritonia, which released the single "Pop-musiikkia" in 1997. He also appeared on the 2005 charity single "Maksamme velkaa", which was released under the name Artistit Auttavat Aasiaa. He also performed "Kun ovet naulataan" with Luokaton in 2007, and contributed "Ontuva Eriksson" to the 2008 Tapio Rautavaara tribute album Mestaria kunnioittaen - Tribuutti Tapio Rautavaaralle. His debut album Elektra was released in 2009, which peaked at number 7 on the Finnish Albums Chart. In 2010, he founded the Ilkka Alanko Orchestra, releasing their album Ruusuja, and won the talent show Kuorosota, the Finnish version of Clash of the Choirs.
