Ialma is a Brussels-based folk ensemble formed in 2000 that consisted of female vocalistsâknown as cantareirasâof Galician descent. The group explored Galician musical heritage through traditional chants and contemporary arrangements. They debuted in 2000 with the album Palabras Darei. In 2002, they collaborated with the Belgian folk band Kadril on the project La Paloma Negra, a fusion of flamenco and Galician-Spanish styles that was subsequently released as a double album in 2004. Their discography expanded with notable works such as Marmuladas (2002), Nova Era (2006), and the dance-integrated production Cem Voltas (2011). In 2016, they released the critically acclaimed album Camiño under Home Records.
