Biography
Formed in 2010, I Am King is a post-hardcore band from Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Although the band has gone through through several changes over the years, the original line-up consisted of guitarist Justin Mitchell (the groupâs only constant member), vocalists Nate Newhard (unclean) and Sam âSkyâ Skyler Senen (clean), bassist Mike Dietrich, drummer Tito Rivera, and keyboardist Ben Miller. Shortly after forming, they recorded their first demo, Illuminations, before issuing their I Am King EP in 2011. I Am King signed to Velocity / Rise Records in 2012 and released their debut full length album OneHundred in 2013. The following year, vocalists Sky and Newhard left the band and were replaced by Angel Flores (clean vocals) and Nathan âBATâ Rodrigues (unclean vocals). Drummer Tito Rivera left the group and was replaced by Monev Tips. Dropped by their record label while working on new material, the band had to re-record their nearly completed second album, Solidarity, which was finally released in 2015. After releasing the âRolling Stoneâ single in 2016, they issued their Acoustic EP the following year. Several singles followed before I Am King released their Playing the Saint EP in 2018. Further singles include âLove the Way You Lie, Pt. 2â (2018), âLet Me Love Youâ (2020), âStarboyâ (2021), âTitaniumâ (2022), and âBittersweetâ (2022).
