Biography

I Am Empire is an American alternative rock, post-hardcore, emo, and pop punk ensemble formed in 2008 in San Jose, California. The group originally performed under the name Vespera before adopting the name I Am Empire in August 2008. The band consisted of Austin Lyons and Joshua Case. The ensemble independently released the studio album I Am Empire in April 2009, featuring the singles âYou're a Fakeâ and âThe Elevatorâ, which reached number 15 and number 11 on the Billboard/R&R Christian Rock chart. In May 2010, the group signed with Tooth & Nail Records and released the recording Kings in 2011, which reached number 35 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. The ensemble performed with acts including Emery and Brian Welch. The band released the recording Anchors in 2013 and the EP Another Man's Treasure in 2020.
