Biography

Stein Torleif Bjella, born on April 7, 1968, in Ål, Hallingdal, Norway, is a Norwegian singer-songwriter and musician. His music career began with the release of his debut solo album Heidersmenn in 2009. In 2011, he released Vonde visu, which earned him the prestigious Spellemannprisen award. Bjella continued to produce albums, including Heim for å døy (2013), Gode liv (2016), and Jordsjukantologien (2018). The latter album featured his poetry set to music, following the release of his poetry book Jordsjukantologien Nr. 1 in 2017. Bjella also released Øvre-Ål Toneakademi in 2020 and Nysetmåne in 2023.
