Hog Hoggidy Hog was a South African band formed in Cape Town in 1995, known for blending punk, ska, and traditional African music. The original lineup included George Bacon on vocals, Sean Snout on bass, Peter Porker on drums, and Amos Keeto on guitar. Their first show was at The Purple Turtle opening for The Springbok Nude Girls in 1995. In 1997, Hog Hoggidy Hog released their debut album, Fishpaste & Vibe, under Way Cool Records, which included the single "The Popstar Explosion" and reached national radio airplay. The band's second drummer, Robin 'Porkchop' Stehlik, left in late 1996 before the full-length album was released. Hog Hoggidy Hog continued to tour extensively, including European circuits from 2005 until their disbandment in 2015. They are credited with influencing South African alternative music and are often regarded as founders of the SA punk scene.
