Biography
Hey Marseilles is an indie folk and chamber pop band from Seattle, Washington. The group initially consisted of Matt Bishop on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Nick Ward on guitar and mandolin, Philip Kobernik on accordion and piano, Samuel Anderson on cello and electric bass, and Jacob Anderson on viola. The band self-released their debut album To Travels & Trunks in 2008, which was reissued in 2010. Early in their career, Hey Marseilles opened for groups such as Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band and Parts & Labor. Their second album, Lines We Trace, arrived in 2013. The band then collaborated with LA-based producer Anthony Kilhoffer on their third album, Hey Marseilles, released in 2016. Notable songs include "Rio" (2008), "To Travels and Trunks" (2008), and "West Coast" (2015). Hey Marseilles went on hiatus in 2019.
