Biography

Flex (born August 26, 1980, as Félix Danilo Gómez Bosquez in Panama City and raised in Chitré) came up in Panama’s late-1990s reggae en español circuit, recording early features before refining the romantic style that defined his breakthrough. He issued his debut album Te Quiero: Romantic Style in da World in 2007, led by the crossover single “Te Quiero,” which topped Latin radio across the Americas, crossed to the Billboard Hot 100, and earned a Latin Grammy for Best Urban Song in 2008; a televised remix with Belinda widened his pop reach. He followed with La Evolución Romantic Style (2009), spawning hits like “Dime Si Te Vas Con Él,” and then Romantic Style Parte 3: Desde la Esencia (2010), consolidating his blend of reggae-pop melodies and tender lyricism. After Vives en Mí (2012) and the sleeker Seduction (2015), Flex refreshed his catalog and performance profile while clarifying his stage name internationally. He returned with the studio set Delirio (2021), written and produced during the pandemic and supported by a run of official videos, and expanded his legacy in 2024 with Sonido Inmortal, a collaboration billed as that revisited his romantic style with new recordings for Asterisco Records. The momentum carried into 2025 via the single “Ya No Llores Más” with Ricky Rick, underscoring his long-running knack for pairing reggae en español roots with radio-ready hooks while staying active on tour and streaming platforms.
