Biography

Helmut Schafzahl, known professionally as Helmut aus Mallorca, was born on February 16, 1947, in Austria. He is a singer specializing in pop and schlager music. Schafzahl began his musical career as a member of the band Dominos, with whom he toured extensively across Europe. In 1988, he and his band started performing under the name Helmut und die Dominos at the Oberbayern disco on Mallorca, which marked his entry into the "Ballermann" scene. Schafzahl's breakthrough came in 2002 with the release of "Ohne Holland fahr’n wir zur WM", a collaboration with Jojo’s. The single became a significant hit, staying in the German charts for 15 weeks. Other notable releases include "Der Hammer" (2000/01) and "Z’ruck zu Dir" (2003). In addition to his solo work, Schafzahl has been part of various compilations and party albums, including El Arenal Mega-Hits Mallorca ’97 and XXL-Mallorca-Party. He also ventured into acting with a cameo in the 1997 film Ballermann 6, where he played himself. Schafzahl is known for his versatility, playing nine instruments and working as a DJ. In 2008, he celebrated his 20-year anniversary on Mallorca. Since 2009, he has been part of the music duo H&H with rock guitarist Rokky Aitch.
