Hebert Vargas, born on January 1, 1983, in Valledupar, is a Colombian vallenato singer who first built national recognition as the lead voice of Los Gigantes del Vallenato between 1996 and 2002, a period in which he recorded radio staples such as âInocente,â âPerdóname,â âMe mata la melancolÃa,â âEl error,â âTe amé,â âParo de mi corazón,â and âSe me salen las lágrimas.â He then launched a solo career with the album Identidad Propia (2004) and followed with Mi Pasión⦠El Vallenato (2005) and Pedacitos de Mi Vida (2009), consolidating a romantic style through signature songs including âDespués del Adiós,â âNo He Podido Ser Feliz,â âDarÃa la Vida por Ti,â and âAcuérdate.â A live retrospective, Grandes Ãxitos (En Vivo) (2020), captured his catalog for a new generation, and he refreshed key hits in the digital era with releases like âDespués del Adiós (Remix)â (2023). He returned to singles in 2024 with âUsted Señora,â âFarsante,â and âLa Ruleta,â broadening his reach beyond traditional vallenato radio.
