Biography

Hazmat Modine, a blues and roots music band from New York City, was formed in 1998 by Wade Schuman and Randy Weinstein. The group gained significant recognition starting in 2006 with the release of their debut album, Bahamut, which reached number 12 on Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart. Known for blending various musical styles such as blues, rocksteady, calypso, and klezmer, Hazmat Modine has performed extensively across North America, Europe, and Asia. Their second album, Cicada (2011), featured collaborations with Natalie Merchant and the Kronos Quartet. The band's album, Extra-Deluxe-Supreme, was released in 2015 and included contributions from the Alash Ensemble. Hazmat Modine has continued to tour internationally, with their 22nd European tour in 2019.
