Biography
Happyness was an English alternative rock band based in London, formed in 2013. The group's core members, Jon E E Allen, Benji Compston, and Ash Kenazi, initially met during educational pursuits before focusing on Happyness as their primary project. Their debut release was the Happyness EP (2013), self-released through the Weird Smiling label. Their first full-length album, Weird Little Birthday (2014), was later re-released by Moshi Moshi Records and Bar/None Records. This release garnered acclaim from various publications including NME and The Guardian, and they won Best Lyric at the 2015 NME Awards for "Montreal Rock Band Somewhere" (2014). Following extensive touring, they released their second album, Write In (2017). Their third album, Floatr (2020), was released following the departure of founding member Benji Compston.
