Hannah Jones (born on March 7, 1957) is a London-based British vocalist, mostly known for scoring two Top 5 US hits in the late 90s. Music was always a part of Jonesâ life â her mother worked at the BBCâs Maida Vale studios and they used to live right above a jazz club â but it wasnât until she met her husband that she started to take her career seriously. The couple moved to London for that purpose, where she began performing in the cityâs underground club circuit. Jones quickly became a club scene staple, and even toured the UK during those first years. Her success caught the attention of Boy George (of Culture Club fame), with whom she collaborated on the songs âStrong Boyâ and â40 Days of Rainâ in 1992. Following a couple of high-profile collaborations with artists like Elton John (âThe Man Who Will Never Dieâ) and Heaven 17 (âGimme Shelterâ), Jones rebooted her career releasing the single âNo One Can Love You More Than Meâ in 1997. The track was a huge hit in the US, topping Billboardâs Dance Club Songs chart that same year. She followed the success with âYou Only Have to Say You Love Meâ in 1998, which also topped the dance music charts and reached Number 65 on Billboardâs Hot 100. After a string of singles that failed to chart during the 2000s, Jones joined forces with the Northern Underground Jazz Orchestra project in 2013 for a series of live performances at several jazz clubs throughout London.
