Biography

Although Danish singer Ida Corr launched her solo career as a member of the short-lived girl group Sha Li Mar in 2002, she rebranded herself as a dance-pop hitmaker with 2007's "Let Me Think About It." Born in Aarhus on March 14, 1977, she worked as a background singer for artists like Thomas Helmig and Sanne Salomonsen during the late 1990s. After releasing one album with Sha Li Mar, she began collaborating with house producers like Morten Trust and Freddie le Grand as a solo artist. Albums like 2005's Streetdiva and 2006's Robosoul were popular in Denmark, but it was "Let Me Think About It" that turned Ida Corr into a global chart-topper. Released internationally as part of her One compilation album, the song topped Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay chart in America, peaked at Number 2 in the UK, and cracked the Top 20 in Australia, New Zealand, and Germany. Corr then joined forces with Rahsaan Patterson to form the duo SugaRush Beat Company, although the group parted ways after releasing a self-titled album in 2008. The following year, Corr resumed her solo career with Under the Sun, followed in 2013 by Corr Values.
