Gretta Louise Ray, born on May 22, 1998 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, is an Australian singer-songwriter. Ray began singing at age 5, later performing in choirs. In February 2016, Ray released the debut EP Elsewhere. In August 2018, Ray released the EP Here and Now, featuring the single âDriveâ, which had previously won both the national Triple J Unearthed High competition and the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition in 2016. Ray's debut studio album, Begin to Look Around, was released on August 27, 2021, and reached number 13 on the ARIA Charts. The album also received a nomination for Breakthrough Artist at the 2021 ARIA Music Awards. Her sophomore studio album, Positive Spin, was released on August 18, 2023, and included the single âAmerica Foreverâ, recorded with Maisie Peters and Carol Ades. In March 2024, Ray released the deluxe edition Positive Spin +, followed by the single âSwimming, Cryingâ in June 2026. Accolades include winning Best Pop Work at the 2024 Music Victoria Awards.
