Biography

Greg Burk, born on June 24, 1969, in Lansing, Minnesota, is an American jazz pianist and composer. He began playing piano at a young age and was part of his high school's jazz band. Greg Burk studied at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the University of Michigan before moving to Bratislava for European tours. Returning to the U.S., he collaborated with musicians like James Carter in Detroit and Ann Arbor. At 25, he earned a master’s degree from the New England Conservatory of Music. Greg Burk released several albums under his own name, including The Path Here (2011), Spinoza (2011), and Sound Neighbors (2020). He became an Assistant Professor at the Berklee School of Music in 1999 and has lived in Rome since 2004. Greg Burk was also a member of the Either/Orchestra, contributing to albums like Afro-Cubism (2002) and Live in Addis (2004).
