Graveworm is an Italian symphonic black metal band from Brunico that formed in 1992. The group features vocalist Stefan Fiori, guitarists Stefan Unterpertinger and Eric Righi, bassist Florian Reiner, and drummer Julian Niederkofler. They signed their first recording contract in 1997 and released the EP Eternal Winds (1997). Their debut studio album, When Daylight's Gone, was released (1997). In 1998, they released the EP Underneath the Crescent Moon, which featured guest vocals by Sarah Jezebel Deva on the track âAwake... Thy Angels of Sorrowâ. Graveworm performed at the Wacken Open Air festival alongside bands such as Children of Bodom and Cradle of Filth. Their subsequent albums include As the Angels Reach the Beauty (1999) and Scourge of Malice (2001). After signing with Nuclear Blast Records in 2002, they released the album Engraved in Black (2003), which featured covers of âLosing My Religionâ and âIt's a Sinâ. Their discography also includes (N)utopia (2005), Collateral Defect (2007), Diabolical Figures (2009), and Fragments of Death (2011). Following the release of Ascending Hate (2015), the band returned with the album Killing Innocence (2023). They are known for a vocal style that alternates between high-pitched screams and deep growls.
