Biography
Grand Massive, a German metal band from Munich, was founded in 2008 by Jochen Böllath. Their early music fell under the stoner metal subgenre but evolved towards classical heavy metal. In 2009, they released their debut EP Grand Massive and performed at the Wacken Rocks South Festival. Due to geographical challenges, the band underwent lineup changes in 2013, adding Alexander Andronikos on vocals and Peter Wiesenbacher on guitar. Their second EP, II, was released in 2015 via 7hard/Membran. In 2016, Grand Massive signed with Metalville/Rough Trade Distribution for their first full-length album, III. They continued to tour, sharing the stage with acts such as Crowbar and Corrosion of Conformity. They released their fourth album, IV, in May 2020, featuring a duet with Dirk "Dicker" Weiss from Warpath.
