Biography

Gone Is Gone, an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 2016, was founded by drummer Tony Hajjar of At the Drive-In and guitarist Mike Zarin. The duo had collaborated on film and video game soundtracks since 2009 before forming a trio with Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age in 2013. Troy Sanders of Mastodon joined later, completing the lineup in April 2016. Their debut EP Gone Is Gone was released that same year through Rise Records and Black Dune Records. The band's first full-length album, Echolocation, followed in January 2017, receiving critical acclaim for its progressive rock and stoner rock elements. Notable tracks from the album include "Sentient" and "Pawns". Gone Is Gone was nominated for Best New Artist at the Loudwire Music Awards in both 2016 and 2017, as well as for Best Debut Album at the Metal Hammer Awards in 2017.
