Golden Bough, a Celtic-music band formed in 1980 and based in California, was founded by Margie Butler, Margot Duxler, Lief Sørbye, and Paul Espinoza. The group's initial performances took place at the Cannery at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. Their first album, The Boatman's Daughter, was released in 1983. Throughout their career, Golden Bough released numerous albums, including Winding Road (1986) and Far From Home (1988). The band is known for their acoustic performances of folk music and Celtic music, often performing at music festivals and touring Europe. Notable songs include "Black Jack Davy" from the album The Boatman's Daughter, which features a unique take on the traditional song. Golden Bough has also released albums such as Christmas In A Celtic Land (1997) and Celtic Love Songs (2009).
