Biography
Gianluigi Di Franco, born on January 5, 1953, in Capri, Italy, was an Italian singer. In the early 1970s, he joined brothers Corrado and Danilo Rustici to form the progressive rock band Cervello, which released their debut album Melos in 1973. Following the group's disbandment, he worked as a music therapist at a psychiatric hospital in Naples throughout the 1970s. He resumed his music career in the early 1980s, collaborating with percussionist Tony Esposito on the songs "Kalimba de luna" (1984) and "As Tu As" (1985), as well as with Tullio De Piscopo and Mory Kanté on "Radio Africa" (1986). In 1988, he released his first solo album, Gianluigi Di Franco. He also released the singles "Nighi-Nagha" and "Siren Ligheia/Luna" in 1988. He died from cancer on March 19, 2005.
