Biography

Cervello was an Italian progressive rock band from Naples active between 1970 and 1974. The ensemble was founded by Corrado Rustici and initially included Antonio Spagnolo, Giulio D'Ambrosio, Renato Lori, and Pino Prota. Lori and Prota were later replaced by Gianluigi Di Franco and Remigio Esposito. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by the lack of keyboards, instead utilizing flutes, saxophones, and organ pedals. They performed at the Festival of Avant-Garde Music and New Trends in 1973. Their recording career includes the debut studio album Melos (1973), released through the label Dischi Ricordi. The ensemble disbanded in 1974. Their discography includes the live recording Live in Tokyo (2017).
