Biography

Geva Alon, born on May 30, 1979, in Kibbutz Ma'abarot, Israel, is a blues, folk, and rock musician and singer-songwriter. He began playing guitar at age 12 and founded the rock trio The Flying Baby in 2000, achieving relative success in Israel and during US tours with their albums Inner World (2002) and Pain to Give (2004). In 2006, Alon released his first solo album, Days of Hunger, which established him in Tel Aviv's folk indie scene. His second solo release, The Wall of Sound (2007), included a cover of David Bowie's "Modern Love" that became a major radio hit. In 2009, Alon released Get Closer, produced by Thom Monahan and featuring the band Tree. This album garnered high praise from Israeli rock critics and was certified gold in Israel in November 2012.
