Biography
Gabrielle Goodman, born in 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland, is an American jazz singer and music educator. She began her vocal training at Peabody Preparatory School and later studied at the Peabody Institute Conservatory. Goodman's breakthrough came as a backup vocalist for Roberta Flack in the mid-1980s, touring internationally with Flack and appearing on Norman Connors' 1988 album Passion, where she sang lead vocals on tracks such as "Loving You" and "You're My One and Only Love". She released her debut jazz albums Travelin' Light (1993) and Until We Love (1994). She became a professor of voice at Berklee College of Music in 1998. Goodman has performed at prestigious festivals such as Montreux and Newport, co-starred with Dee Dee Bridgewater in Montreal, and toured with Michael Bublé.
