Biography

Fur Trade is a Canadian indie rock band, formed in 2013 during the hiatus of Hot Hot Heat by Steve Bays and Parker Bossley. The duo began recording in Bays' studio, leading to their debut album Don't Get Heavy, released on Last Gang Records in 2013. This album, which included the singles "Kids These Days" and "Voyager", showcased a blend of styles, including funk, pop, and synth elements. The band's video for "Same Temptation", directed by Kheaven Lewandowski, was shortlisted for the 2015 Prism Prize. Fur Trade has also released several singles, including "Christmas in a Cage" (2022) and "LOL Trash" (2023).
