Biography

From Monument To Masses was an American post-rock ensemble from San Francisco established in December 2000. The group consisted of the musicians Francis Choung, Sergio Robledo-Maderazo, and Matthew Solberg. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by post-rock and post-punk. Their recording career began with the eponymous debut studio recording From Monument To Masses (2002) released on the label Dim Mak Records. The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the studio recording The Impossible Leap in One Hundred Simple Steps (2003). Their discography included the studio recording Schools of Thought Contend (2005) and the studio recording On Little Known Frequencies (2009). From Monument To Masses achieved professional recognition for the single “Beyond God & Elvis” (2008). The group became inactive in 2010 following a final performance at the Great American Music Hall on August 28, 2010.
