Biography
Frodus, an American post-hardcore band, was formed in 1993 in Washington, D.C. by vocalist/guitarist Shelby Cinca and drummer Jason Hamacher. Their early releases included self-distributed cassettes and singles such as "Tzo Boy" and "Babe". Frodus signed with Tooth & Nail Records in 1998, releasing Conglomerate International. Frodus disbanded in 1999, with their final release considered their best work by band members. The album, titled And We Washed Our Weapons In the Sea, was recorded before the band's split but released in 2001 on Fueled by Ramen. Post-breakup, Shelby Cinca and Jason Hamacher formed The Black Sea, later renamed Decahedron, while other members pursued various projects. In 2009, Frodus reunited briefly for a series of performances and released new material, including the single "Soundlab 1" in 2010.
