Quebec rock band founded in 2001 in Drummondville (Canada), formed by Charles Boyer, François Therriault, Francis Lareau and Jean-Pierre Décarie. In 2001, they launched the song " L'Acheteur ", which reached the top of the charts on CISM and CIBL radio stations in Quebec. A few months after their founding, the group won the Coup de Coeur award at the Festival international de la chanson de Granby and at the Francofolies de Montréal. With the help of Jacques Dion (brother of Céline Dion) as manager, Chapeaumelon released their self-titled debut album on October 24, 2002. The following year, the band opened for a number of major artists, including Sylvain Cossette and The Tea Party. The band's songs were also used in American TV series such as Scooby Doo and Ghost Whisperer. In 2004, their French version of The Who classic " Ma Génération " was chosen for the credits of the film Eurotrip . After a three-year absence from the live scene, the band won the Richmond Festirock competition in March 2008. That same year, they released their second album, Bonjour Bonsoir . The song " Mademoiselle Éphémère " is featured in the MTV series The Hills . In 2008, Chapeaumelon opened for several renowned artists, including Jonas, Marie-Chantal Toupin and Offenbach. In November 2012, the band released a new single entitled " Les Marcheurs ". In 2016, they released another single called " Les Visionnaires ".
