Franck Amsallem, born on October 25, 1961, in Oran, Algeria, is a Franco-American jazz pianist, arranger, composer, and singer. He began performing at age 14 and later joined the grand orchestra of the jazz class at the Conservatoire de Nice. In 1981, Amsallem moved to the United States to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, earning his diploma in 1984. Amsallem released his debut album Out A Day in 1990 with Gary Peacock and Bill Stewart, which received four stars from the Penguin Guide to Jazz on CDs. In the 2000s, he returned to France and released albums such as Summer Times (2003) and A Week in Paris (2005). His vocal debut came with Amsallem Sings (2009), featuring songs from the Great American Songbook.
