Biography
Fowatile is a group from Lyon made up of three musicians with a penchant for sound experimentation, and a singer with a devastating flow, Elby Dillinger. Prominent members of the Lyon music scene, they formed the group in February 2009. Fowatile was conceived as a real alternative to the traditional hip-hop DJ set: the group produces its electro hip-hop sounds beforehand, then plays them back live without any samples. Truly created for the stage, Fowatile made a name for themselves in concert before releasing their self-titled debut EP on January 20, 2011. The musicians then founded their own label, Biscuit Records, in October 2011, before releasing their debut album, Fowl Steps , on March 19, 2012. It features duets with Talib Kweli and Forrein Beggars in a style close to English abstract hip-hop productions.
