Ben Sherpa is a South African rapper born in Johannesburg on March 25, 1979, in the township of Soweto. After his parents fled apartheid by migrating to Chicago, Ben Sherpa decided to return in 1993 for the first free elections. He gradually became one of the country's most influential rappers and founded his own label, Concentration Camp Publishing, in June 2002. Spotted in 2007 by a BBC presenter, Ben Sherpa used this showcase to release B. Sherpa, his debut album the following year. It was followed by 4th Density Light Show in 2012.
