Nicolas Dubique, aka Bustacrime, was born in Guadeloupe. Encouraged by his musician father, he quickly made a name for himself on the local rap, hip-hop and reggae scene. He left the island in 2003, while his group, M.A.E. Style, enjoyed success with a debut album and numerous concerts. In 2006, he released his first solo album, tackling everyday themes and aiming to project a positive image to young people. Vocally, he claims the influence of singers such as Busta Rhymes. Now settled in the south of France, where he works as an electrician, he hasn't given up on music just yet: now operating under the name Bustacrime, he scouted the single "Matter of Time" in 2013, but it was two years later with "In the Light Now" that he seriously stepped up the pace. This was quickly followed by "Ain't Telling You Twice" and then "Elevation", both self-released. The success of "Elevation", which reached number 31 in the French charts, heralded the release, a few weeks later, of an eight-track debut album, Dope Lines.
