Biography

Foghorn Stringband, an old-time string band from Portland, Oregon, was formed in 2000 when founding members met at The National Oldtime Fiddlers' Contest in Weiser, Idaho. Initially named Foghorn Leghorn, the original lineup included Stephen "Sammy" Lind on fiddle and vocals, P.T. Grover Jr. on banjo, Caleb Klauder on mandolin and vocals, and Brian Bagdonas on bass. The band's first album, Rattlesnake Tidal Wave, was self-released in November 2002 under their own Foghorn Music label. In August 2004, they released another self-produced album, Reap What You Sow. The group signed with Nettwerk America and released Weiser Sunrise in August 2005. Notable albums include Boombox Squaredance, a collection of outtakes from the Reap What You Sow sessions, released in spring 2007, and later works such as Outshine the Sun (September 2012), Devil in the Seat (January 2015), and Rock Island Grange (2018). Foghorn Stringband has performed at numerous festivals worldwide.
