Biography
Alfred Conrad GyÃ, known professionally as Fredy Sieg, was born on September 28, 1878, in Berlin. He initially worked as a technical draftsman for AEG but soon pursued his passion for comedy and singing, joining small singing groups that performed throughout Brandenburg, Pomerania, and Silesia. In 1924, Fredy Sieg became the house comedian at Erich Carow's Lachbühne, where he remained until its destruction in 1943. His repertoire included over a hundred self-written songs, with notable works such as "Das Lied von der Krummen Lanke" and "Hochzeit bei Zickenschulze". Post-World War II, Sieg continued performing at various venues including the Friedrichstadt-Palast and Steintor in Halle/Saale. He also appeared in films like Aafa-Kunterbunt (1932) and Corinna Schmidt (1951). Fredy Sieg passed away on February 25, 1962, in Berlin-Friedrichshain.
